Ellsworth R. (Bob) Sheldon, 88, of Grosvenordale, went home to the Lord March 30, 2013. He was born February 7, 1925, in Woodstock, CT, son of the late Fred E. and Jennie (Nelson) Sheldon. He was raised in Woodstock on the family's produce farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, watching the Red Sox and the UCONN Huskies Women's Basketball Team. He enjoyed getting together with his family. Ellsworth was employed most of his life at Koppers/US Button in Putnam before retiring. In his youth he was employed at Bob Joy's Apple Orchard. He leaves behind his children, Richard W. Sheldon of Midlothian, VA, Robert E. Sheldon (Roxanne) of Putnam, Laura L. Dobyns (Gordan) of Aylett, VA, Karen G. Cutrone (Craig) of Aylett, VA, and Timothy G. Sheldon (Lori) of Corinth, ME, 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat; Kitty. He was predeceased by his wife, the late Loretta W. (Aubin) Sheldon whom he married on March 30, 1956. He was also predeceased by his siblings; Charles, Beatrice, Bernice, Melba, Hazel, Stanley, Wayland, Frank, Ida, Ella, Harriet, Alfred and Jennie. Burial will be private at Quassett Cemetery, Woodstock in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations in his memory be made to TEEG, P.O. Box 664, N.
