Mary Nora Blanchette January 1, 1919 – May 16, 2011 Mary Nora Blanchette, 92, of Woodstock Ave, Putnam, CT, formerly of Bloomfield, died May 16, 2011 at the Matulaitis Nursing Home. Wife of the late Wilbert H. Blanchette, who died in 1997. She had made her home in Bloomfield for over 35 years, moving to Putnam in 1997. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation in Putnam. She was a member of the Putnam Grange and the Putnam Senior Citizens. She was an avid NY Yankee fan. She also enjoyed many trips back to Nova Scotia, where she grew up, to visit with family and friends. She leaves her children: Ellen St. Jean, her husband Bruce of Woodstock, CT: Paul Blanchette his wife JoAnne of Horseheads, NY; Granddaughters Megan and Andrea, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson Michael, and all of her eight siblings, she was the last of her generation. Calling hours will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam, CT. The Funeral will be on Saturday at 9:45 AM from the Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Burial will be held on Mon. at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
