It is with deep sadness that the family of Thomas Field announces the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend on Saturday, September 24, 2011. Tom was born in Brockton, MA on April 30, 1942. His parents were Eleanor (Tupper) and Harold F. Field. He graduated from Abington High School. Tom attended the Wentworth Institute of Technology and the University of New Haven and achieved his Master’s Degree at the age of 62 from Albertus Magnus College. He worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for Pratt & Whitney for 42 years. Tom was involved with the Killingly Town Council and Planning and Zoning committees. A former President of the E. Killingly Fire District, a Captain of Rescue, Red Cross, Certified First Aid-CPR Instructor and a former EMT with KB Ambulance. He was a Scoutmaster for many years in Dayville with Troop #45. On May 25, 1963 he married the love of his life Cynthia Ann (Hume) and enjoyed 48 years of marriage together. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Jennifer and Brian, grandchildren, Brandon and Kaylee, a sister Nancy and his cane chewing canine companion Molly. With all the trials and tribulations that Tom faced, he never gave up and was truly an inspiration to all who knew him. A quote from Tom “If you live like today is the last day of your life, someday you’ll be right.” A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at a later date.
