AMY LEE WOOD Thompson - Amy Lee Wood, 42, died on May 2, 2009 at her home at Carriage Square due to complications of diabetes. She leaves her son, Christopher Wood, of Dudley, MA and her parents, Edgar and Louise Lavigne, of Thompson; her sister, Lisa LaRochelle of Putnam, and her two nieces, Robin and Sara. She graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High School, attended Quinebaug Valley Community College and graduated with a LPN certificate from the Windham Regional Technical School. She worked at several nursing homes including her favorite--The Provincial House in Putnam. Her compassion for the sick and elderly was always foremost and her smile and laughter will be missed by many. She enjoyed painting large and small statutes, murals for classrooms, and even a large scene for the Putnam light parade. At her request, the burial will be private at the family's convenience.
