Dayville-Claire Leavens, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 24, 2009 at a family residence in St Petersburg, FL surrounded by her family. Claire was born July 14, 1924 in Putnam, CT, daughter to Arthur E. Parent and Valida Sorel Parent.
Claire lived her adult life in Dayville, CT. She was a supervisor at Idle Wild Farms in Pomfret for many years before retiring.
Claire is survived by her husband, Wallace J. Nichols of Dayville, CT and St. Petersburg, FL , two daughters, Sandra Pilcher with her husband, David of St. Petersburg, FL, and Linda Leavens of Niantic, CT; two brothers, Paul L. Parent with his wife Julie of Mesa AZ, and Arthur H. Parent with his wife Lorraine of Danielson, CT; two grandsons, Marc Pilcher with his wife Dawn of Ruskin, FL, and Christopher Pilcher with his wife Michelle of Forest Hills MD; two great-grandchildren, Rebecca Claire Pilcher and Jack Pilcher, both of Forest Hill, MD and many nieces and nephews who were all very special to her.
Funeral from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, Friday, May 29, 2009 at 9:15 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church, 350 Hartford Pike, Dayville, CT 06241. Calling hours Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Dayville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
