Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the megsase home a bit, but other than that, this is magnificent blog. A fantastic read. I'll certainly be back.

Bob and i coached at ND in the early 60's. He was the JV FB coach, I the freshmen. We practice together every day during FB seasn. He taught me to punt and I passed it on to my kids. Every year we would have a JV vs. freshman live game. We came close a few times. Bob ate, drank, and lived football. Eternal rest, Coach.

My favorite memories of Pepe are sitting next to him in his living room and reminiscing about his past adventures, about all his wonderful friends, family, all his accomplishments. He truly loved his life. I am very lucky to have known him, and spent so much time with him, and will miss his company. Love you Pep.

When I was 4 years old I attended a day camp. I was very shy and very scared. Coach took me under his wing and he never let me down. I didn't have a father in my life so he stepped in and made sure he was there when it counted most. He never forgot a birthday. He would show up at my work just to say" Don't forget I still love you." He was an amazing man and my hero. I will miss him dearly. Don't forget I still love you Coach and I always will <3

Coach, will be missed by many. You impacted the lives of so many, most without them even realizing it at the time. I am a teacher today, I truly realize how you influenced my life. I can only hope that I can help students and influence them the way you have so many. My thoughts and prayers are with your family Coach. Thanks for all you have done!! Kathy

Prayers and condolences to Coach's family. He was such a great person. Always had an ear for you to bend, a smile or joke to brighten your day, and words of wisdom and life to help you move forward. His encouragement, pride in hard work, and sense of humor made him one of my favorite coaches. I learned so much from having him coach me on the Lady Clippers (89-93) , lessons I hope to pass on as a coach/parent myself.
Rest In Peace Coach, you were loved and will be missed!

To the family: Coping with the death of a loved one is never easy, but we have the assurance from Our Heavenly Father that he will comfort us in all our tribulations. (Psalms 55:22; 2 Corinthians 1:3,4. Death was never a part of the Creator’s purpose for mankind, so he has furnished a guarantee by means of his Son, Christ Jesus, that we will see our loved ones again. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28) I pray that you may draw comfort from His Words.

I would like to apologize for a statement in the previous memoir for the Coach. It was not his Sister but his Daughter living in Putnam, that I delivered newspapers. Thank you, Mike Brouwer.

I would like to say, Bob or Coach Deveau was one of the best people you could know. He always remembered your name, even if you were not at the High School anymore. I was not a jock in school but that did not matter, he treated us all the same. Funny story: I was at a gas station once and he pulled in a few minutes later. We saw a girl having problems with her gas cap, because it had a lock on it. We both tried to get it open for about fifteen minutes and finally I removed it. He basically joked with me and stated now you have a friend for life Mike. I delivered newspapers to his Sister's House and we kind of bumped into each other accidentally. Another funny story: When I first delivered newspapers to his Sister's House, I didn't realize she was a relative; so jokingly he states, now you know. It almost seemed on strange occasions I would bump into the Coach. He will be missed and I hope others have some funny stories to mention about him. Newspaper wise: He always stated I did an excellent job. Rest in peace Mr. Deveau, the advise you gave me will be here forever. Thanks, Mike Brouwer.

Coach Deveau was a rare person. He was honest, direct, yet never cross, and he treated everyone with respect. That is what made him such an effective coach. He never yelled to motivate his players. However, if you made a mistake, he would be disappointed in you. Since we all respected coach, that disappointment really meant something.

Coach just wanted to thank u for all the great memories. When we first meet it was all about the games and competition. As we became older it really was about the friendship. Thanks so much for both parts of my life that u were able to touch. Rest in peace.

I was coaches' two year captain of the golf team 1993&1994. I always enjoyed coaches' company and played many golf rounds with him after graduation. Last contact I had was his calling and leaving me a message at my new job in PA just last year. Unfortunately he did not leave his phone number so I couldn't return the call. I will remember him fondly and hope he is playing 18 right now as I am writing. God bless you all. Nate Blanchette

Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I was not an athlete at PHS, but I was blessed to get to know Coach as an adult. I always enjoyed our monthly lunches at Wendy's in Putnam. I will always remember our one round of golf at Vineyard Valley.
He was a great guy. My sincerest sympathies, Roberta
