Obituary of Mathieau W. Krzywda
Mathieau Krzywda of Danielson, Connecticut, passed away July 29th. He was ninety-two-years old. Mr. Krzywda grew up in Wauregan.
During WWII, from 1942 to 1945, he served with the Fourth Armored Division as a heavy machine-gunner, a scout and a water purification technician. He later worked as a hydraulic bender operator at InterRoyal Corp, in Plainfield, for 38 years. Mr. Krzywda was a communicant of St. James Church. His favorite pastimes were fishing, gardening, Red Sox baseball, and UConn basketball.
Mathieau is survived by Stella, his wife of sixty-five years, his son Steven and his grandchildren, Vanessa (ne Wlaskiewicz) McGuirk, and Matthew Rodgers Krzywda. Other survivors include Pamela Rodgers of Putnam, Paul McGuirk of Quaker Hill, Joe Wlaskiewicz of Dayville, Wanda Soler of Danielson and several other nephews. Mathieau died peacefully in his sleep, a loving and devoted husband, until his very last breath.
Visiting hours at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson are on Tuesday, August 4th, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Mass will then be celebrated at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson at 11:00. Mr. Krzywda will be interred at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wauregan, beside his beloved daughter Marlene. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people donate to their favorite charity or church.
