Obituary of Lauretta I. Desilets
Lauretta I. Desilets, of Bear Hill Road, East Killingly, passed away on November 17, 2009, ending a long battle with cancer. She was born in Wauregan, April 6, 1932, daughter of the late Arthur and Malvina Messier, and former wife of the late John P. Desilets.
Educated in the Sacred Heart School system in Wauregan, she then graduated Plainfield High School. She was employed at Collins Motor Sales Group in Moosup, in 1950 she attended the GM Bookkeeping School in Providence, RI. She later worked for Jacobs Rubber, and took an absence to start a family. She returned to the workforce, working at America White Cross Medical Facility, as a lead inspector, until the plant closure. She enjoyed travel, especially the several cruises she had taken. She also enjoyed reading, music, and photography. She also had a great love for the Blue Angels. Survivors include her children Deborah Desilets of Putnam, David Desilets of Portland, OR and her sister Lillian Bisson of Danielson. She was predeceased by three brothers, Armand, Emile and Rene and one sister, Beatrice. A special thanks to Virginia Randolph for her constant support for always being there.
The funeral will be at 10:30 AM on Friday November 20, 2009 from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Wauregan, 620 Wauregan Road, Brooklyn. Calling Hours are from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Funeral Home. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wauregan.
