Wallace H. Maheu, 90, of Blood Road, Putnam, died Saturday, December 26, 2009, at the Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Wally was husband of the late Dotty Maheu who died in 2005. click here for her obituary http://smithandwalkerfh.com/online-obituary/29490
He was the son of the late Henry and Pearl (LaPrey) Maheu.
He was a talented woodworker and an avid outdoorsman that continued to hunt and fish up until his eighties. He was a WWII veteran having served in the US Navy and was a retired electrician from I.B.E.W. Local No. 35.
He is survived by a daughter, Melanie and Charles Aulerich of Danielson; his son, Darin and Denise Maheu of Putnam, his son-in-law James Wheeler of Glastonbury, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, along with his special friends Glenn and Missy Godley of Putnam. He was predeceased by his sons: Wallace and Todd, daughter Sharon and a grandson James Wheeler, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 1, 2010 in ST Mary Cemetery, Providence Street, Putnam, CT. No Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Day Kimball Hospital Alzheimer's Support Program, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260, Westview Recreational Fund, PO Box 428, Dayville, CT 06241 or Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
