Frank R. Gammardella, December 9, 2009 The Villages, FL - Frank R. Gammardella, age 84, of The Villages, FL. passed away December 9, 2009. He was born in Providence, RI.
A veteran of the US Navy, serving during WW II. He was a retired professor and administrator, with Suffolk Community College, Suffolk, LI, NY for 30 years. Frank came to The Villages from Ft. Meyers, FL in 2004. He was a member St. Timothy Catholic Community, a member of American Legion Post #347, Lady Lake, the Irish-American Club, and the Celtic Club. He enjoyed classical music, reading, bowling and golf. He enjoyed attending musical concerts.
Survivors include wife Margaret "Peg" Gammardella, The Villages, FL; three step-daughters Maureen Kazelesky, Iselin, NJ; Peggy Cardinale, Graham, NC; Diane Schmaler, Cossayuna, NY; brother, Ralph Gammardella, Putnam, CT; sister Rose McDavitt, Danielson, CT, seven step grandchildren and twelve step great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 at St. Timothy Catholic Community, The Villages, FL.
Visitation of family and friends will be from 3:00 - 6:00 PM, Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages. Prayers followed by Military Honors, by American Legion Post #347 will be during the visitation. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston, RI. Contributions may be made to The Villages Hospice House, 601 Casa Bella, Casa Bella and CR-466, The Villages, FL 32162-9985.
