Barry, I am so sad. You were a nice man. You always talked to me when I came in to get medicine. We were friends. I'm sorry we didn't get to say bye one more time. I hope you are ok in Heaven. I'm sending a big hug to you through the stars, you'll know it's me. love Katie

I just recalled a memory last night of something Barry told me once, while I was having a philosophical conversation with my daughter last night. Our daughters were born around the same time and Barry and I were having a conversation and I was wondering why do these babies come to us and what do they want from us. And Barry simply answered me, "To be Loved." It was a short and simple and an all knowing answer.

To My Brother:
The craziness of life and just trying to survive had drifted us apart for a number of years. You will never know how sorry I am and how much I regret not being able to be there for you when you were going through your struggles. I hope that you did know how much I love, admire and respect you. As the tides changed once again I was able to be in your presence and you were there for me in my struggles. I thank God that I had Thursday, Friday and Saturday with you. Had I known that I was going to lose you in two days I would have shared so much more with you and grabbed on to every piece of your wisdom, love and your humor. I love you brother, fly free.

Colleen & Alyssa:
Words alone cannot express our sympathy on the untimely death of your beloved husband and father. To say that his time with us was far too short is an understatement. The reality is that he will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew him.
No doubt the outpouring of sympathy you have received since his parting has been of some consolation. Hopefully it will serve as a reminder to you of how well-loved and liked he was…
May God bless you both during this difficult time.

Colleen,
I don't know the struggles you have been through, but I do know that Barry was a special man. He was so kind. My only hope is that any problems here on earth are now gone and he is with God in heaven watching over you and there are no more struggles. I hope that is a comfort to you. Your faith is strong and will get you through this. God loves you, Alyssa and Barry. I will think of Barry everytime I look at the rose bush you gave me when my mom died. I brought it with me to VA. Know that you all are in my prayers.
Eternal rest grant on to Barry's soul Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him, may he rest in peace. Amen
Love, Bette
