We are so very, very sad for the unexpected loss of James Seymour. There is no doubt he was a wonderful, special and smart man and that Jenna’s good heart, strong character and wise nature is his legacy that will now continue with his grandson Taylor James. Our thoughts our with the Smith & Seymour families.

My sympathy to Jim's family. Jim and I have been friends since we raced in Danbury, and the last few years running at Waterford with the SK Lights. We enjoyed talking about the old days. He was always happy to lend a hand if we had a problem. If he had to leave us he went with his foot to the floor and the checkered flag in sight. He will be greatly missed. Jim Torok, Norwalk CT

I went to Wilton High with Jimmy — or 'Jamie" in those days. Pretty sure we were the only to guys in school who knew what racing was. We went our separate ways, but over the years bumped into each other at one track or another. The last few times I saw him it was at Waterford with his race car and a smile on his face. Incredible dedication to his sport. My sincerest condolences to the family.

While we did not have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Smith personally, we count his daughter Jenna and son-in-law Jay, and Baby Taylor, among our dear friends and so we are terribly sorry to hear of his passing. Mr. Smith obviously had an amazing impact on his daughter's life as she is a wonderful person and a fabulous mother to sweet baby Taylor James. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Much love, the Garvin Family

I am happy to have been able tho talk to Jimmy at the track, and I admired him for going out and racing, knowing that a top finish was not expected, but he went out and raced anyway. I'm happy to have been able to take his photo on Saturday morning

Dear Smith and Seymour families,
My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
I can only image the kind and loving man Mr. Smith was. I work with his daughter Jenna and she is one if the sweetest people I know. Her parents did a wonderful job as parents and that will be in turned be passed down to baby Taylor .
It is a comfort knowing Mr. Smith got a chance to meet his grandchild and enjoy the unconditional love of a grandchild.
Now his little grandson will always have his grandpa by his side as his personal guardian angel.
