Obituary of Anna M. Hay
Anna M. Hay, 63, of East Killingly, died Monday April 15, 2013 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Donald W. Hay, they were married August 14, 1971. She was born December 15, 1949 in Norwich, CT; daughter of Antoinette (Ramatowski) Melgey of Warwick, NY and the late Peter I. Melgey.
She had made her home in East Killingly for the last 41 years, and was an active member of the HighPointe Church in Thompson. Anna was a 1967 graduate of the Norwich Free Academy. Anna had a green thumb, she enjoyed working in her gardens, she also enjoyed knitting and crocheting for family and special friends. She had worked for Glass Container Corp. as a tester, for the Killingly School System in the cafeteria and as a grower at Country Greenhouse and Jimmy's Greenhouse.
She leaves in addition to her husband Donald and her mother Antoinette, their two daughters: Jessie Kudzal and her husband Ross of Woodstock, Jaime Taylor and her husband Paul of Cincinnati, OH; her siblings: Peter Davis of Hanford, CA; Patricia Rosiene of Baltic; Peter Melgey of Baltic; Alice Olson of Warwick, NY; her grandchildren Isabella, Lydia, Martie, Benaiah, Blake and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the HighPointe Church, 1208 Thompson Road, Thompson, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Anna's memory to the HighPointe Church, 1208 Thompson Road, Thompson, CT 06277 or Hospice of Northeast Connecticut, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260.
