My mother, Aline Blanchette worked with Sophie for many years at Belding Hemingway. I think she enjoyed here time there the most because of Sophie and all her interests beyond work. I am pretty sure she took a cake decorating course from Sophie because I remember her practicing making those little frosting flowers. I believe Sophie brought some of her doll collection to one of our 4-H meetings. The last time I got a chance to see her was just a few years ago when I was visiting my mother at Matulaitus. I am glad now that I got the chance to have a brief time with her, she was very talented and bright. I send my deepest sympathy to all her family.
