Obituary of Theodore I. Langlois
Theodore I. Langlois, Jr., 89, of Center Street, Putnam, CT, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Regency Heights Nursing Home in Danielson. He was the beloved husband of Marion (King) Langlois, they were married December 12, 1961 by Mervin Whipple. He was born October 2, 1921 in ST Johnsbury, VT, son of the late Theodore I. and Lucy (Lafontaine) Langlois.
He was a Crew Chief, working for the Town of Woodstock Highway Department for over 25 years. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army. He served with the Merrill's Marauders in India and Burma. He was honorably discharged in 1945, and he received a Purple Heart. He made his home in Putnam most of his life, a member of the Putnam VFW Post 1523. He enjoyed stock car racing and raced his own car #12 at area race tracks.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Marion, sisters: Gloria Hickey of CA; Adele Cole of Webster, MA; Lucille Miller of Dayville; a daughter-in-law Susan Rich of Putnam; and a granddaughter, Tammy Hollingworth of Putnam. He was predeceased by a son Wayne Rich; his siblings: Eva Vandale; Norman Langlois, Eugene Langlois.
Funeral Service will be Saturday April 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Burial in Elmvale Cemetery, Woodstock with military honors. To share a memory with his family, "Light a Candle" at www.smithandwalkerfh.com
