Woodstock- Robert A. Chaput, 66, of North Gate Road, Woodstock, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at his home. Beloved husband of Patricia (Lawyer) Chaput. Born August 5, 1944 in Putnam, son of the late Arthur A. and Gertrude (Bernier) Chaput. He lived in Putnam for most of his life, moving to Woodstock 26 years ago. A graduate of Putnam High School. Robert worked in data processing all his life, he worked for American Optical in Southbridge, MA, for 16 years, Wang Labs in Chelmsford and Lowell, MA, and TJX Corporate Co. where he retired from in 1998 due to illness. He was a racing pigeon enthusiast for over 40 years and belonged to the Worcester Homing Pigeon Club and RI Pigeon Club. He leaves his wife Patricia, his beloved sons: Chad D. Ellis of Enfield; Billy Jo Chaput and his wife Holly of Woodstock, two daughters: Susan Sanford of VA; Bobby Jo Chaput of FL, a brother, Richard Chaput of FL, five grandchildren Colton and Peyton Sanford of VA, Danielle, Summer and Ryder Chaput of Woodstock. He also leaves his best friend, Donald Hayes of Putnam. There will be no services; the family requests that no flowers be sent to the home. Donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of NE CT, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260 or any Collie Rescue League in New England, 463 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston RI 02910.
