Charles “Gordon” Dingwell, 58, of Orchard Hill Rd passed away on May 1, 2011 in the comfort of his home. He was born on April 18, 1953 in Willimantic Ct, beloved son of Stanley H. and Virginia (Tripp) Dingwell. He was a lifelong resident of Pomfret where he raised his family. Gordon worked hard as a truck driver and played harder as an avid outdoorsman and family man. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of Teamsters Local 493. Gordon is survived by his father Stanley, his children Loren Dingwell and his wife Jessica of Dayville, Chuck Dingwell and his significant other Heather Cutler of Pomfret Center, Merrianne Dingwell and her significant other Robert Lewis of South Killingly and Megan Dingwell of Danielson, along with their mother Mim Dingwell, his grandchildren McKayla, Kassadee and Xander Lewis, Sydnee and Molly Dingwell, Nathan and Jacob Cutler, his siblings Jamie Dingwell and his wife Jan of Pomfret Center, Cheryl Dingwell of Willimantic, and many nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his mother Virginia. Calling hours will be Friday May 6, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove St, Putnam CT followed by a Graveside service Saturday May 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Eastford Grove Cemetery, Eastford , CT.
