Obituary of Elizabeth A. Vileno
ELIZABETH A. (MUSK) VILENO, 72, of Hampton, CT, died on May 13, 2011, at home with her family around her. Betty recently celebrated their golden anniversary with her beloved husband, John T. Vileno. Born in Providence, January 8, 1939, Betty was the only child of the late Francis Musk and Elizabeth A. (Baker) Musk Fleming.
After her graduation from Mt. Pleasant High School, she received her L.P.N. degree from the former Our Lady of Fatima School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse and then in home health supplies most of her career until she retired in the mid-1990s. She had a sharp wit and enjoyed travel, entertaining, and playing cards and games with her family. Her sewing creations were beautiful and memorable to all. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister-in-law and aunt.
Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters and their spouses: Cynthia Vileno & Jonathan Meigs, Elizabeth Vileno & Steven Rowe, all of Corning, NY; Deborah & John Esborn of E. Sandwich, MA; and Rebecca & Ian Mott of Sutton, MA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Michael Solano of Corning, NY; Elizabeth, Andrew and Garrett Esborn of E. Sandwich, MA; Annabel and Charlotte, at home. She also leaves extended family, including paternal cousins, Deborah (Knight) Therrien of Warwick and Cynthia Knight-Palazzo of Griswold, CT, and their husbands; as well as beloved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral will be Monday, May 16, 2011at 10:15 AM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 40 Cedar Swamp Road, Hampton, CT. Visitation hours Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Betty requested that memorial donations be made to either of her two chosen charities: National MS Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163 or Special Olympics Massachusetts, The Yawkey Sports Training Center, 512 Forest Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
