Obituary of Joyce Hope Mercer

Joyce Mercer July 25, 1931 - June 15, 2011 Dayville - Joyce Hope (Boucher) Mercer, 79, of Dayville, passed quietly at the home of her son, Benjamin Mercer, in Putnam on Wednesday surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Mercer worked for 30 years in the housekeeping department of Haven Health of Danielson. She is predeceased by her husband, George D. Mercer, Sr.; her parents George W. and Lila O. (Matthewson) Boucher; a sister Mrs. Helen Steele; and a brother George W. Boucher, Jr. all of Killingly. She is survived by five children: Mrs. Carol Ann Johnson (husband, Les) of Ormond Beach, FL; George D. Mercer, Jr. (wife Janet) of Brooklyn; Mrs. Linda Lee Beaulieu (husband Oliver) of Wauregan; Benjamin A. Mercer (wife Michelle) of Putnam; and Ms. Patricia M. Grantham (fiance Ed Hawthorne) of Dayville; a sister Mrs. Irene Espinosa of Brooklyn; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved in this life and will be dearly missed. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson. Calling hours Monday, June 20, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Mercer will rest next to her husband in Westfield Cemetery.
