Elizabeth Ryan, 84, of Dayville, died Monday, July 4, 2011 at University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, MA. Betty was born December 10, 1926 in Southbridge, MA to the late Ernest and Lena Andrews. Betty was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Dayville. She was married August 31, 1946 to Richard Ryan Sr., he died in 2000. She loved vacation time with her family camping in North Conway, NH. She enjoyed reading and taking care of her grandsons. She worked for American Optical and retired from Preferred Plastic in 1989. She leaves a son Richard Ryan, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Dayville, two grandsons Christopher Ryan and Richard Ryan III, many nieces and nephews, her extended family: George Axtell Sr. and his wife Joan, Lena Axtell, her son Ryan Axtell, George Axtell Jr. and his wife Tracy, their son George Axtell, Phillip Axtell and his wife Amber, their son Dylan Axtell, Annie Wittmann, her sons Evan Comtois and Mathew Wittmann. Betty was predeceased by a sister Doris Plasse. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 350 Hartford Pike, Dayville. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Dayville. Calling Hours will be Thursday, July 7 at 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Dayville. In Lieu of flowers donation may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation www.cff.org.
