My condolences to the entire Maynard family in your loss of a true legend. Len not only left all of us with a hundred stories, but he also left all of us with a million laughs and memories. Even though he counldn't get my Jersey accent down correctly, he sure damn tried every time he saw me. Rest assured he is proud of all of you. The thing about fathers is that they set the tone for the entire family to emulate. My best thoughts and wishes for all. Barb, he thought you were the best!!!!

Big Len, where do I even start? As a part of your family for 36 years, I've been fortunate enough to have shared so much with you and your family. So this goes out not only to you, but to them as well. You were able to come home, entertain and you went out on top in typical "Big Len" fashion. You always did things YOUR way, right to the end and that says alot about you as a person.
You were the first person I ever watched Stripes with as a kid, and also the last!! Two years ago I found myself in your living room watching that movie again with you and I'm still not even sure how the hell I landed in your living room in the chair next to you that night, but I'll never forget it. I remember thinking, how cool is this HOW many years later?? It was like time stood still, only this time you were not in tighty whities which I very much appreciated :)
You always went out of your way to talk to that "Meagher" kid and I to you, and I'll never forget that Lenny. Sunday you looked at Sam and said, "where's Meagher" at which point she replied,"he's right there Dad!" Then Babs said to me as I hugged her goodbye and all it did was confirm what I always felt with you, "he always liked having you around Heath." You never called me by my first name, and I always liked that. I guess it made me feel kinda "cool" in your eyes, and I always thought you were a pretty cool cat. I always enjoyed talking to you, hearing your stories and you came through again on Sunday when again you had myself and everybody else laughing like you always did. You're one funny Irishman my friend and you had a set of cojones,(please forgive me for the Spanish slang big guy but I'm trying to keep it as clean as possible here) and nobody appreciates that more than myself.
Thank you for the many memories, you have raised a wonderful family who I respect and care about as much as my own, and they will most certainly carry your honor forever. The girls are all taken care of and Pat, Shawn and Steve will hold the forte I'm sure so don't worry about anybody. The 4th will never be the same, and not another one will go by without honoring you my friend.
Until we meet again, May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
Your friend, Heath Meagher. PS - Tell Snuffy I said hello, I always loved that little dog :)))

When I heard Lenny wasn't doing well, I thought of how fully of life he always was and thought, this can't be. We really miss him. I loved how patient he was with the babies bugging him for a hug or kiss ten times as he would leave! Always with a smile and comment about how cute, pretty, or silly they looked, He would evoke another couple minutes of making them laugh and smile.
His generous nature, sense of humor, smile, love of living life to the fullest and pride for his family, had left many of us with an empty place inside our hearts.
My heart and tears are with you all. We share in your grief and send love, hope and prayers in this difficult time.
