Obituary of Brenda L. Russell
Brenda L. Russell, 68, of Danielson, CT, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at home with family by her side. She was born in Putnam, CT on June 10, 1945. She was the daughter of WWII Navy Veteran, Charles B. & Mary A. (Lacey) Reynolds. Brenda was united in marriage to Patrick Russell on March 17, 2002 and made their home in Danielson.
Brenda attended St. James School, Pomfret Community School and Putnam Catholic Academy. She also attended Willimantic School of Hairdressing & Cosmetology. Brenda enjoyed her work in the fields of Hairdressing, Cosmetology and also in Social Service work.
Brenda loved being with family and friends. Brenda will always be remembered for her great big heart and always putting others before herself. Brenda's biggest accomplishment during her lifetime was raising her boys, who she loved dearly. She also loved crocheting, knitting, sewing, crafts, cooking, baking, interior decorating and music. She was a Boston Red Sox and New England Patriot fan. She also loved the summers at Misquamicut Beach, RI. Brenda was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She also was CCD teacher at Our Lady of LaSalette parish in Brooklyn. She was a communicant of Our Lady of LaSalette and St. James Church.
In addition to her husband, Patrick, survivors include her sons, Clifford C. Soucy and his wife Sherri of Brooklyn, CT, Jeffrey P. Weeden, Brian D. Soucy of Danielson, CT, two grandchildren, Brittni A. Soucy and Cole C. Soucy, two brothers, Brian A. Reynolds and his wife Carol of Danielson, CT, Douglas P. Reynolds and his wife Judy of Danielson, CT, a sister, Deborah A. Kandolin and her husband Randolph of Woodstock, CT. She leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. Brenda was predeceased by her son, Michael R. Soucy, a grandson, Riley John Michael Soucy, and a brother Gordon C. Reynolds, who served in the Marines. The family will forever love you and you will always be in our hearts and prayers.
Funeral service will be 9:30AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson. Calling Hours will be Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 659 Tower Ave, First Floor, Hartford, CT 06112. Brenda L. Russell, 68, of Danielson, CT, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at home with family by her side. She was born in Putnam, CT on June 10, 1945.
