Obituary of Robert J. Hebert
Robert J. Hebert, 79, of Killingly Avenue, Putnam, died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after a brief illness. He was born on April 21, 1932 in Burrillville, RI, to the late Leo and Viola (Rabitaille) Hebert. He served in the Korean Conflict as a Meteorologist in the US Army, and worked for many years for American Optical, retiring in 1995. He was a loving husband to the late Elizabeth (Crorkin) Hebert from 1955 to her death in 2007. He was a warm, caring, compassionate husband, father, and friend. In his younger days, he enjoyed golf and spending time at his rustic cabin in Maine.
He is survived by his wife Noella (Gadoury) Hebert, daughter Deborah Levesque and her husband Donald, daughter Kathryn Doyle and her husband Jim, as well as his grandchildren Stacy Gemma, Michelle Jennings, Joshua Levesque, Aaron, Sasha, and Christopher Wassarman and Shannon Doyle, step-children Alice Rapaglia, Dale Davis, Donna Quintal, and Wayne Stelmack, and 4 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the Creation Church of Thompson, CT, 47 West Thompson Road, N. Grosvenordale, CT, of which he was a faithful member.
