Obituary of Gertrude C. Laprade

Gertrude C. Laprade, 90, of Pomfret Center, passed away November 24, 2011 at the Pierce Memorial Nursing Home in Brooklyn, CT. She was born September 14, 1921 in Danielson, the daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche (Forcier) Laprade. She was a graduate of Killingly High School and George Washington University, for both undergraduate and graduate. She retired from the District of Columbia Government after 34 years and the NY Medical Association in White Plains after an additional six years. She is survived by her sister Doris Laprade of Alexandria, VA, niece Cherie Squire of Crownsville, MD, nephew Pierre Smith of Chesapeake Beach, MD and their children. The Funeral will be Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 10:15 am from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St, Danielson followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret, CT. A calling hour will be from 9:15-10:15 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Danielson. The Gagnon and Costello Funeral home is entrusted with arrangements.
