Obituary of Cecile H. Bertrand

Cecile H. Bertrand, 93, of Putnam, went to her final resting place Friday, February 24, 2012 at Day Kimball Hospital surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband Richard L. Bertrand, who passed in 1980. She was born in Watertown, CT, on October 17, 1918, the daughter of Alexander and Theodora LeMay Hamel. Cecile was a lifelong resident of Putnam and a Communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation. Cecile is survived by her three children, Dorothy V. Therrien-Kulaga and her husband Mark of Thompson. Sharon A. Berube and her husband Gary of Danielson and Richard P. Bertrand of Putnam. Also her brother Maurice N. Hamel of Naples, FL. Seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM in ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam, CT, burial will follow in ST Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Westview Recreation Department, PO Box 428, Dayville, CT 06241, where she resided for the last year.
