To the family of Charles S. Bowen Sr. I am so sorry to hear of Charlies` passing, although I didn`t know him that well , we became friends at Cardiac Rehab at DKH. You see we at Cardiac Rehab become more like Family then friends and when we lose a member of our Cardiac Group it becomes very sad. What we feel as a group maybe hard for the daily person to understand because we all here at Rehab have basically the same problem to one degree or another.
R.I.P. Charlie Your job here on earth as we know it has been fulfilled. God Bless!!

To the Bowen Family,
May you find comfort from family and friends to help the pain of your loss. Your dad was so sweet. I have a lot of memories at the garage stopping with my dad when I was younger, and later over the years at picnics. He was always so happy when I saw him. Our deepest sympathies to each of you.

Topper & Barbara posted a condolence
Charles has left us with many beautiful memories never to be forgotten. He was a close friend to Topper, a confidant, mentor as well as his employer at C S Bowen Trucking in the late 50's. Charlie was one of our wedding attendants in our wedding party 1959. My years working for Charlie at Eastford Truck Sales in the office were also great and he was a delightful boss to work for. We share our condolences with you Peg and your family. He has left us with MANY Fond and LASTING Memories!

To the Bowen Family,
I was so sorry to hear about your loss. As a child growing up in Eastford, I rememberd Mr. Bowen and his garage. My Dad used to have him fix his car. I remembered Mr. Bowen always being so nice to me and I went to school with Richard. May the life-long memories all of you have of him give you comfort.
Sincerly,
Ms. Alexis R. Donald

Charlie Bowen was a wonderful person who is going to be so dearly missed. Many years ago, my cat got stranded in a tree behind Bowen's Garage, and Charlie climbed up and got her to come down. He was a great person.

Christmases spent trying to "get" a photo of Uncle Charles; riding horsie on his knee as a really little kid, turning down the thermostat at Gramma's at holidays; sledding down his hill, a long walk back up! swinging on the big willow tree branches, trying to learn to water ski at the lake, he was patient i never learned. He made a pond in the back yard, when Chris walked into it the pond disappeared real fast. He was a wonderful uncle and person, made my childhood richer by being in it.

I am sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is to lose a loved one. I have very fond memories of Charlie whether it was visiting his house with my dad or running into him at the post office. He always seemed to have a smile and an upbeat greeting. He was one of the few people who called me "Susie". May your memories comfort you. With deepest sympathy. Susan
