Donald E. Doyle, 88, of Danielson, CT, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Westview Health Center in Dayville. He was the husband of Jeannette (Savoie) Doyle; they were married July 4, 1946. He was born August 27, 1923 in Danielson, son of the late John and Anna (Grimes) Doyle.
Don was co-owner and operator of C & D Clean Up Service in Danielson for over 25 years. He also worked for the Killingly School System as a Material Expediter for over 30 years. He was a veteran WWII serving with the US Army. He had made his home in the Killingly area all his life, a communicant of St. James Church in Danielson. He enjoyed woodworking and in his later years painting with acrylics. He took pride in the care of his yard and always had a great outlook on life. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
He leaves his wife Jeannette, his children Gary Doyle and his wife Charlotte of Danielson; Kathleen Magalis and her fiancé David Mulford of Brooklyn; grandsons Patrick Magalis and Sean Doyle. He was predeceased by a grandson Ryan Doyle, a brother Francis Doyle, and a sister Irene Cutler.
Calling Hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson. Interment will be private in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Ryan Doyle Scholarship Fund, c/o Sean B. Doyle, 63 Perry Street, Unit 105, Putnam, CT 06260.
