Obituary of Bertha Waters

Bertha G. Waters, 87 formerly of Juliette Avenue, Thompson, CT, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn, CT. She was the wife of the late Conrad Waters, he died in 1995. She was born April 16, 1924 in Glocester, RI, daughter of the late Alden and Bertha (Devaudreil) Ballou. She worked for over 25 years at the Tupperware Company in North Smithfield, RI. She had also worked at Montgomery Ward and Sears in Putnam, CT. She spent many winters in Inverness, Florida. Bertha was always willing to lend a helping hand and was always generous with her time and talents. She leaves her children: Ronald Ballou of Chepachet, RI, Judy Pedersen of Thompson; Dennis Waters of Glocester, RI; Michael Waters of Ballouville, CT; her siblings Gertrude O'Han of Brooklyn; Rose Babbit of Florida; Charles Ballou of Florida; Richard Ballou of Glocester; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson Eric Pedersen, brother Alden Ballou and sister Rita Becarri. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM. Burial will be private in ST Mary Cemetery in Putnam. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Recreational Fund of the Pierce Memorial Baptist Home, PO Box 326, Brooklyn, CT 06234
