Obituary of Barbara B. Peckham

Barbara B. Peckham, November 28, 1928-May 21 2012 Woodstock - Barbara Bair Peckham, 83, of Woodstock, beloved wife of the late Robert Chase Peckham, passed away Monday night at her home with her family at her side. She was born November 28th 1928 in Worcester MA, a daughter of the late George and Anna (Heald) Bair. Barbara and Robert "Bob" ran their beautiful Woodstock dairy farm and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary one month before Bob's passing on July 20th 2003. She leaves a son, Robert G. Peckham and daughter in law Ann Marie Peckham of Woodstock; grandsons Matthew R. Peckham and his wife Christine Peckham of Woodstock, Mark A. Peckham and his wife Sarah of Nashville TN. She leaves five beloved great grandchildren, Caleb, Grace, Graham, and Tucker of Woodstock and Atticus of Nashville. Barbara leaves behind a beloved sister in law Beverly Bair of West Brookfield Ma, and her son and daughter George and Debbie, her bother in law Adelarde Millette and his daughters Heidi (wife of Ronnie Kuszewski) and Bonnie Meagher, a sister in law and brother in law Eleanor P. and Clarance Jolley of Danielson CT. She was predeceased by her sister Lois Millette and her brother George Bair. Barbara was a graduate of Bridgewater State University in 1950. She taught for several years in Auburn, MA and Worcester. After marrying Bob she continued teaching in Webster and Dudley, MA. She later retired to help Bob with the business of running their dairy farm, and to take care of their family. A Memorial Service will be June 2nd Saturday at 11:00 AM at the East Woodstock Congregational Church, 220 Woodstock Road, East Woodstock, CT with a reception to follow in fellowship hall. Burial in Center Cemetary. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of N.E. CT. P.O. Box 632, Putnam CT 06260.
