Obituary of Doris E. Cady
Doris E. Cady, 97, of Pomfret, CT died Thursday at the Lanessa Extended Care in Webster, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Arthur Cady, he died in 1979. She was born January 1, 1915 in West Glocester, RI, daughter of the late Everette and Roseanna (Monte) Cutler.
Mrs. Cady worked as a Postal Clerk at the Pomfret Post Office for over 25 years. She was a long time communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church in Pomfret, and ST Monica Guild. She made her home in Pomfret most of her life, active with the Pomfret Senior Citizens and enjoyed quilting and working in her gardens. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
She leaves her children: Janet Kraemer and her husband Frank of Griswold; Peter Cady and his wife Suzan of Roseville, CA; grandchildren: Sean Donovan and his wife Lisa; Timothy Donovan; Maria Galvez and her husband Chris; Emily Cady; great grandchildren: Hannah, Shannon; Tayler; Trinity, Uriah and Ezra, her brother Raymond Cutler, Sr. and his wife Rita of Pomfret, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Charles, Kenneth, Edward, and two granddaughters, Ruthy and Verena.
A calling Hour will be Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 11:30 to 12:30 PM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM at Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret Street, Pomfret, burial following in ST Mary Cemetery, Putnam. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Most Holy Trinity Church, PO Box 235, Pomfret, CT 06258 or to Hospice.
