Obituary of Amede D. Tetreault
Amede D. Tetreault, 97, of Putnam, died Monday at Oakwood Healthcare in Webster. Husband of the late Florence (Arpin) Tetreault. He was born May 22, 1915 in Jewett City, son of the late Calizte and Odelia (Boulanger) Tetreault.
He had made his home in Putnam all of his life, was a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army with the 1st Battalion, 79 division, as antitank gunner in Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He spent 33 months in the service. He received the Army of Occupation Medal, the European Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon. He was a member
of the Putnam Senior Citizens, Putnam Travelers Club, and the Putnam VFW Post 1523. He was employed at John M. Deans, Inc. since 1941, retirnig over forty years of employment.
He leaves two daughters, Joyce Cyr and her fiancé Robert McGee of Putnam, June Foley and her husband Kevin of Putnam, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Gary L. Tetreault; a granddaughter Laurie Adams.
Calling Hours Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery with Military Honors. Donations may be made in his memory to the Putnam VFW Post 1523, 207 Providence Street, Putnam, CT 06260.
