Sad to read about one of my favorite teachers in my life. Just prior to my being scouted by the Minnesota Twins at Putnam High School, Mr. Brodeur, while I was a student at Putnam Grammar School, advised me not to be a "Half Baked Athlete". We had a wonderful discussion about that and I have passed the basics of that discussion on to many people in my life but especially to my own children and grandchildren. He will always be one of my favorite people in my life, a great guy! God Bless all his family and friends.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
Jim Phaiah

When I moved to Woodstock 16 years ago I met Dick. He welcomed me to the community and invited me to play tennis in his group. Through this I met many wonderful friends. Dick and I went to a couple of baseball games together and went out for breakfast a couple of times. I will really miss my friend Dick

I had Dick for 7th and 8th grade English. Years later he moved next door with his growing family. It took me years to call him Dick instead of Mr Brodeur! He and Jean were the best neighbors ever. Deepest sympathy to Louise, Maurice, Paul, Danny and Michelle. Thinking of all the good times everyone had.

I first met Richardn when his sons were in the Columbian Squires many years ago. When I took up tennis I always brought my rackets to him and he never failed to ask me to stay for a while. We saw him every Sunday at mass, first the 8:00 then the 8:30 and recently the 9:00. He always had a smile and always greeted everyone he knew. Richard was a real gentleman and kind, gentle person.

I met Mr. Brodeur through his daughter Michelle, and remember the time a bunch of friends went to sing carols on his porch one Christmas. If the kindness of the daughter reflects back to the father, then Mr. Brodeur was a bright flame

My deepest sympathy to the entire family. He was one of my teachers. Then I became a teacher and worked with him at the middle school. I taught his grandson sons and enjoyed my times with them and their grandfather. I knew Jean well and worked with her too. Recently I have had the privilege of playing bridge with him on Tuesdays and Thursdays and substituting for Joe as his partner when go was unable to play. He was a pleasure to play with! We both enjoy cards. He will be missed by me and so many others. Rest in peace special man. Fran

Dick was my long-time favorite partner in doubles tennis. We once defeated a much youmger team for the Roseland Park championship. He was fun to be with, and actually one of the best men I have met in my lifetime. My wife, Bev, and I also enjoyed playing bridge for a number of years with Dick and Jeanne.

Maurice and family. Bob and I are so sad to hear about the loss of your father. It is never easy to lose a loved one no matter the circumstances.
When your loved one has passed on slowly, you are given the gift of time to spend those last few precious moments together, even if it is only a short amount of time.
You and your family are in our thoughts and hearts during this tough time.
Love Bob and Andrea, Barbara.

I enjoyed the privilege of teaching with your father. His most memorable characterics were that he was a man with a ready smile, compassion, and a wonderful sense of humor. His love of teaching was surpassed only by his love for his family. The world was a brighter place with his influence and presence. He has handed his torch to you... live well.
