Obituary of Chester E. Thayer, III

Chester E. Thayer, III, "Joe", 59, of Hope, RI, formerly of Eastford, CT, died unexpectedly Tuesday. He was born January 13, 1953 in Middlebury, VT son of Anna Thayer and the late Chester E. Thayer, Jr. He had made his home in Hope, for the last four years.

He worked at the Rite Aid Warehouse in Dayville for over 18 years. He also was a truck driver for L & K Trucking in Franklin, CT, and for many years worked on the Warren Dairy and Grain Farm in Eastford. He enjoyed caring for and driving his corvette, spending time working in his yard and hours tinkering. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren.

He leaves his companion Mary Gabrielsen; his mother Anna Thayer; his children Kelly Percy of Eastford; Chester Thayer IV and his wife Linda of Eastford; his siblings: Bonita King of NC; Donna Spink of Eastford; Anna Bryant of Moosup; Mary Freeland of N. Grosvenordale; Paula White of Charlton, MA; Frank Thayer of Woodstock; John Thayer of Hydeville, VT; grandchildren: Kiana, Kyle, Julie, Josh and two great grandchildren; his former wife Cheryl Larose of Eastford, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Saturday at 10:30 AM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Burial in Grove Cemetery, Eastford. Calling hours Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
