Loyola M. Potvin, 102, formerly of Brooklyn and Wauregan, CT, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Regency Heights in Danielson, CT. Wife of the late Henry J. Potvin, he died July 7, 2003. She was born September 19, 1909, in Grosvenordale, daughter of the late Edward and Laura (Duquette) Beauregard. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Wauregan, the Daughters of Isabella of the Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Saint Jean Baptiste Society. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and she had a great love of music. She made her home in Wauregan for many years and she spent her youth in Grosvenordale. She married Henry J. Potvin on June 5, 1933 in Sacred Heart Church. Following her marriage she devoted her life to raising her family. She leaves her children: Edward Potvin and his wife Anne of Danielson; Lucille M. Forbes and her husband Kenneth of Surf City, NC; grandchildren: Mark Forbes and his wife Holly of Middlesex, NC; Matthew Forbes and his wife Karen of Bristol, CT; Cindy Ambrusco and her husband Joe of Murrells Inlet, SC; Amy Forbes of Newport News, VA; Kathleen Potvin of Chicago, IL; Karen Klein of Winston Salem, NC; five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson: Michael Forbes; a brother: Laurent Beauregard; a sister: Loretta LeSage. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 620 Wauregan Road, Wauregan, CT, burial following in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A calling hour will be Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT.
