Obituary of Doris Messier

Doris Messier, 91, of Putnam, CT, died Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. Wife of the late Lionel Messier, they were married July 4, 1940, he died April 12, 1997. She was born March 19, 1921 in Putnam, daughter of the late Omer and Rose (Michaud) Bernier. She made her home at Little River Acres on Sabin Street for many years, a communicant of St Mary Church of the Visitation. She had a great love for her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves her son: Nell Messier and his wife Lillian of Brooklyn; daughter Rose Moore and her husband Richard of Mirabel, Canada; grandchildren: Chad Messier of Putnam, Jeff Messier of Brooklyn; Jody Provost of Webster, MA; Richard Moore, Jr of Mirabel, Canada; Robert Moore of Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren: Brad Messier of Putnam; Zachary Messier of Brooklyn; Hailey Messier of Brooklyn; Tyler Provost of Webster; Kaitlyn Provost of Webster; Brianna Provost of Webster; Cedric Moore of Canada; Kaelan Moore of Canada; Allison Moore of Canada; Ashley Moore of Atlanta, GA; sister: Dorothy Nichols of Putnam; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam, followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
