Lynne was a dear friend. We often sat at the RYC pool and would chat away. almost every member coming in and out, she would comment, "I taught their mom, bother, uncle etc..." Finally I said to Lynne "give me a list of who you haven't taught in Greenwich, that would be easier!" We shared many things, she was a wonderful friend and lived her life to the fullest, I will miss Lynne so much, swim on little angel!!

I am so very sorry about your loss of the one and only Lynne Lake! Lynne taught so many of my friends and siblings to swim and love the water. She taught me to swim and always reminded me, "not to drink the pool." I remain so grateful to her for instilling a love of swimming in me. She was a lovely and passionate woman who made a HUGE impact on many, many people.
My sincere condolences to her whole family and to her friends.

Lynne was a cherished friend for over 40 years. My 3 boys learned to swim with her and remember her fondly. And she and I shared a love of the Bible and Christian values. She lived a full and meaningful life and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family whom she adored.

We have great memories of Lynne. We met her first when she was teaching swimming at the Greenwich YMCA. We took our children for lessons (four - one after another) and got to be friends with Lynne. Later when she taught swimming at the Riverside Yacht Club, we would see her occasionally when we were invited there for lunch.
In later years, I have seen her yearly at Bobby Littlefield's annual Christmas cookie swap. (I can't be sure which was the last time she came.)
We want to express our gratitude, love and admiration for Lynne. We do hope we'll be in town when her service takes place.

Dear Peter, Lois and Nina -
I absolutely loved, adored and admired your mom. She was an incredible teacher and mentor to me as a young teen. I was incredibly blessed to learn how to be a swim instructor under her guidance and always wished I could have as many bathing suits as she did.
My parents went away one winter for a week and I had the thrill of bring one of her kids for a week. She made wonderful dinners, helped me sew a down vest and even gave me one of her cherish swim suits.
She had the strongest and most gentle hands. She was the most amazing teacher to watch and she could get little kids to do almost anything. I started my own "come to your home" swim lesson business for a few summers and I did my best to emulate everything Lynne had taught me.
I am so grateful to have known, learned and been loved by your mom. I am sure it's hard to say goodbye to her. Please let me know when her memorial will be, I will be there!
With love to you all.

She will be dearly missed!

I was fortunate enough to be one of the many children that Lynne taught to swim at the YMCA and RYC. Lynne then laid the foundation for me becoming a swim instructor as she was my mentor for several summers at RYC. Lynne was exceptionally kind, always prepared and knowledgeable. One of the great things she taught me was that, no matter what your mood is at the moment, when you line your children up for their lesson, it is showtime! Show your enthusiasm and the kids will love it. This also has the effect of positively changing your mood.
Thank you for your love and patience with all of us, Lynne!
