There were 300 students in our class of 1957. Why do I remember Dave? He stood out as a person of integrity and calmness and genuine caring for others. I am sure his family will miss him. My prayers go out to you.

There was never a better neighbor whose dry wit amused us. Our entire family is blessed to have known him.

Dave (Mr. Flath) was the father of two childhood friends (Leslie and Dayna) and was my first softball coach. He taught me the fundamentals of the game but more importantly he taught me the value of being part of a team. He was kind, supportive, caring and genuinely interested in you and your wellbeing. To say he made an impression on my life is an understatement. I will never forget the life lessons he taught me nor his contagious smile.
My deepest sympathies to Sandy, Dayna, Leslie and the entire Flath family.

Dave and his brother Robert were childhood friends of mine on Francis St in East Hartford. When Dave told me they were moving across town to Forbes St I was sick for weeks hearing of this news. Back then the neighborhood was your world. Dave was a gentle nice person to everyone.
