Obituary of Rene M Dauphinais
Rene M. Dauphinais, 80, of Dayville passed away Friday, August 16, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Bransfield) Dauphinais. They were married in 1954, at Our Lady of Peace in East Killingly and were married for 59 years. Rene was born in Danielson, CT on July 18, 1933, son of the late Elephege and Jermaine (Barret) Dauphinais.
Rene worked for 23 years as a supervisor at Wyckoff Steel in Putnam. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Dayville and St. Ignatius in Rogers. He was a member of the Williamsville Fire Engine Co. in Rogers. Rene worked for the Pomfret and Hyde Schools as the equipment manager. He also owned Rene's Lawn Mowing Services and worked for Tillinghast Funeral Home in Danielson for 15 years. Rene took pride in his yard work. He liked to golf and many called him "Duffy".
He leaves his wife Ruth (Bransfield) Dauphinais of Dayville, his two daughters Michelle Dauphinais and her husband Ricky Miller of Putnam, Darlene Dauphinais of Rogers, his siblings John Dauphinais of Norwich, Roger Dauphinais and his wife Eleanora of Cromwell, Phillip Dauphinais and his wife Nancy of Thompson, Loretta LeBlanc and her husband Gerard of Norwich, his grandchildren Lisa Renard of Canterbury, Chester Phillips of Danielson, Krystal Phillips of Putnam, Rene Mullen of New Mexico, John Mullen of Colchester and his 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Irene Trahan and brother Lucien Dauphinais.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church 350 Hartford Pike Dayville, CT. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. To share a memory with his family "Light a Candle" at www.gagnonandcostellofh.com
