Obituary of Viola Atsales Coutras
Brooklyn, Ct. - Viola Atsales Coutras, passed away September 11, 2015, a resident of St Joseph’s Living Center in Windham, Ct. She was born February 17, 1925 in Brooklyn, Ct., daughter of the late George and Evangeline (Koutsoumaris) Atsales. She lived in Brooklyn most of her life and was a graduate of Killingly High School in 1945. Viola recently attended her class reunion in July. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she loved cooking and was an excellent seamstress. Her greatest moments were family gatherings and being with her four grandchildren and three great grandchildren that were the heart of her life.
She leaves behind her daughter Constance of Seminole, Fl., her son Gus, of Brooklyn, Ct., her sisters, Bessie McConnell of Rockville, Md., Helen Bessette of Killingly, Ct., Beatrice Gotsis of Brooklyn, Ct., Alice A. Theodor of Brooklyn, Ct., Mary Chubbuck of Middletown, Ct. She was predeceased by brothers Marino, Charles, Christopher and sister Christine Pena. We want to thank the St. Joseph’s Living Center for their love and excellent care.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 80 Water Street, Danielson, Ct. 06239, with a Calling Hour from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Service at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at South Cemetery, Brooklyn, Ct. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to the St. Joseph’s Living Center, 14 Club Rd., Windham, Ct. 06280 or The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
