I remember Charlotte, what a wonderful gal, full of life, a great spirit and warm heart. She brought joy to the business office at DKH, she had a remarkable spunk and sparkle about her. I remember her love for Disney, and could envision her gardens I had heard about. I remember her love for family; it was quite apparent the closeness she shared with her daughter, Debi, where the apple did not fall far from the tree for warm, fun and friendly dispositions. My heart was very touched by her love and support for her grandson, Robert, at that time serving overseas. Her pride and morale became an inspiration and comfort to me when my son, Brian was called to serve overseas. Their pictures were proudly displayed on the wall at DKH, and I believe the button pin idea came from Charlotte. I know Charlotte touched many hearts in her life time, and she will be missed dearly. May her family and loved ones be comforted at this time, and keep her in their hearts, always.

She will be really missed. I will especially miss our little road side chats. Always looked forward to seeing her walking in the neighborhood. Our conversations were always fun and interesting. Very sad to never have this again. Deepest sympathies to all Charlotte's family from Nancy and myself.

Matt was my first real boss at Whitcraft; but he was more than that - he became a friend and as such I was invited to their house where I met Charlotte. I don't think I ever knew anyone who was so welcoming and bubbly. That is the word - Bubbly! We had a recent chance meeting and hugs at Coriander and after about 30 years she still had that infectious smile that you just had to return. Along with the smile there was still the Bubbly -strong as ever! I miss them both and there is an empty space left that can't be filled.

I was very saddened to read Charlotte's obituary. I have many fond memories of knowing her in her roles as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, school volunteer, Pilfershire Rd. animal rescuer and gardener, and all-around super woman. I know she will be very missed by the family she has loved so well. Deepest sympathy and regards to all.

I was so sorry to hear of Charlotte's passing. I still remember getting together as children and playing in the woods. Sliding down the forest road on lines of sleds, with Charlotte's dad pulling us back up with his car with chains on. I still have a picture in my head of Charlotte going off the edge of the forest road, head first into a culvert with her legs sticking straight up!
So strange to have had such a freak accident. Guess you just never know what will happen when you wake up each day.
My condolences to all the family members.....Barbara

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of, Mrs. Nowakowski. With all her love and joys, I imagine she was an amazing woman. I won't pretend to know what you're going through, but what has helped me deal with the loss of those I love is turning to the Scriptures, something that has been a real source of comfort. One Scripture that gives me hope is John 11:25, which says, " Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." I hope that this verse will also comfort you and, I hope you and your family can get through this difficult time. Please accept my condolences for the loss of your beloved mother, grandma and friend. Sincerely, Meryl

Debi and Family. On behalf of the EIFC, please accept our sympathy on the passing of your mom. Your mom was not only a social member, "buzzing" around the station and giving orders to keep us in line, she was like a mother and grandmother to our members. Some of us knew her way back when, appreciated her giving and thoughtfulness, but especially "telling it or you like it is". A good woman. She's with dad now, but rest assured she will be "hovering". Sincerely, your EIFC family.

I am so sorry to hear about Charlotte. When I moved to Eastford in 1969, she took me under her wing and taught me how to live in the country. We had many joyous times and shed many tears over the years. She will always be remembered as my friend. Much love to her family.
