Obituary of Adele S. Briere

Adele S. Briere, 91, of Danielson passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. She was born on November 16, 1923 in Coventry, RI, daughter of the late Stephen and Theresa (Wiewcuzak) Swantek. Adele worked for 25 years at American Optical. She enjoyed dancing, camping, sewing and playing the organ. She loved animals and spending time with her family. Adele was married on April 24, 1948 in Killingly, CT to Maurice J. Briere, he died August 27, 1984. She leaves her brother; Walter Swantek, her niece; Mary Gagnon and her companion Jeffrey Songco and her children; Christine Gagnon, Scott Gagnon and Jeffrey Gagnon and his wife Melissa. Her nephews; Henry Swantek, Leonard Swantek and his wife Kathy and their daughter Kristen Swantek, Paul Swantek and his wife Melanie and their children; Stephanie Swantek, Jennifer Swantek and Marisa Swantek. Adele was predeceased by her siblings; Joseph, Helen and Michael. A Visitation will be Friday, October 30, 2015 from 8:30 to 10:00 AM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 30, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, 350 Hartford Pike, Dayville, CT. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson, CT.
