Obituary of George Robertson
George “Methven” Robertson, 97, of Danielson passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Davis Place in Danielson. Born July 15, 1918 in Danielson, he was the son of George and Lillie (Jones) Robertson. George was the beloved husband of Lucille C. (Bonneville) Robertson, the love of his life for 72 years. They were married at St. James Church in Danielson by Rev. Armand Nadeau on November 30, 1942. Lucille died June 8, 2015.
George attended Brooklyn and Killingly Schools. While attending High School, and until he went into the service, he worked for AE Meech Hardware. From 1942 to 1946 he served in the Army Corp. of Engineers 2770th Base Reproduction Co. in France and Germany. After his return from duty he was employed at Rogers Corporation, for many years he was employed as a Sales Representative of home building products. He then owned his own Business, K&R Aluminum, manufacturing aluminum products. He was a member of the Danielson Fire Department for 39 years and a member of the VFW Post 2650. He worked for the Killingly Board of ED as a bus driver for 24 years, retiring at age 80. George was a Communicant of St. James Church.
Survivors include one daughter and her husband Carol & David Cournoyer of East Killingly and three sons and their wives, Mark & Connie (Magrey) Robertson of Acworth, GA., Lee & Debbie (Luther) Robertson of Loganville, GA., and Shawn & Tammy (Duff) Robertson of Spring Hill, TN. His nine grandchildren: Marc, Michelle, Laurie, Diane, Jeffrey, James, Heather, Matthew & Christopher. 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. His sister Beverly Bigelow of Danielson. He was predeceased by his wife Lucille C. (Bonneville) Robertson, his brother Donald Robertson.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 9, at 12:30 PM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin St., Danielson, CT., burial following with Military Honors in Holy Cross Cemetery, Maple Street, Danielson. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to “Friends of LaSallette Tuition Assistance”, c/o St. James School, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT 06239.
