Gladys A. Petricola, 83, formerly of Pomfret, CT, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. She was the wife of Vincent Petricola. They were married in Dover, Ohio, August 15, 1953, he passed away in 1998. She was born April 16, 1932, in Brimfield, OH, daughter of the late Norman and Ruth (Carl) Weiss. Gladys was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother; she was a born again Christian and had a great love for her Lord. She was a member of the Central Assembly of God in Central Village; she enjoyed painting, drawing and playing cards. She was a member of Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens. Gladys was an excellent cook. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, and also enjoyed watching golf. She leaves her children Mark Petricola and his wife, Tina, of Danielson, CT; Dennis Petricola and his wife, Linda, of Brooklyn, CT; Christine Petricola of Salem, NH; her sisters Marjorie Bradley of PA and Geraldine Michael of Rootstown, OH; three granddaughters, Hailey Petricola, Allison Mayo, and Amanda Petricola; one grandson, Anthony Petricola; and one great granddaughter, Everly Mayo. She was predeceased by her son Ronald Petricola in 2011, her siblings Maxine Douthitt, Thelma Dunlap, Ralph Weiss, Kenneth Weiss and Norman Weiss. Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, followed by a Graveside Service at 12:30 PM in Evergreen Cemetery, Route 12, Central Village, CT.
