Obituary of Leroy W. Ducat

Leroy W. Ducat, 82, of Danielson died Dec. 25, 2015 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He was born Jan. 9, 1933 in Plainfield, son of the late Harry and Flora (Desrosier) Ducat. Husband of Anita (Cusson) Ducat, they were married on Sept. 3, 1951 in St. James Church, she died Dec. 3, 1977. Leroy was a communicant of St. James Church and a former member of the K of C. He was a 1951 Plainfield High School graduate. He worked for ARA Vending as a serviceman, for Kaman as a sheet metal mechanic, the Plainfield dog track as a Senior security officer and worked for the State of CT in the Division of Special Revenue and at Better Value in Canterbury. He leaves his son Wayne A. Ducat of Danielson, daughters: Pattie Noren of Plainfield; Cecile Stanzione and her husband Barry of Killingly; and Donna Marie of Killingly, brothers: Henry Jerry Ducat of NY; Joseph Ducat of FL, sisters: Jean Nadeau of FL, Flora Smith of NY, grandchildren: Kenneth Noren, Matthew Noren, Sr., Lee Ann Ducat, Kimberly Fortin, Eric Ducat, Keith Ducat, Xenen Scott, Schuyler Scott, great-grandchildren Wyatt Ducat, Riley Noren, Matthew Noren, Jr., several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Albert Ducat, Robert Ducat, sisters Elaine Salisbury, Pauline Duprey, Rita Bourque, Theresa Starwarz and Noella Young. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Jan. 2, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at St. James Church, 12 Franklin St., Danielson. Burial will be at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Following the Mass a Celebration of Life reception will follow at the Laurel House, 8 Tracy Road, Dayville, CT.
