Obituary of Raymond R. LeClair
Raymond R. LeClair, 87, of Putnam, CT, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Matulaitis Nursing Home of Putnam. Beloved husband of the late Cecelia LeClair, she died July 10, 2012. He was born August 10, 1924 in Putnam. Son of the late Pierre and Rose (Labossiere) LeClair.
He was a Veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy as a Boatswain Mate that included the invasions of Africa, Sicily, Salerno, Anzio and D-Day invasion of Normandy. He married Cecelia on April 27, 1946. After his service he was the Owner of John's Package Store in town. He was a member of the LST #1 Association and a member of the Putnam Lions Club.
Raymond is survived by a sister-in-law Helen Flibbert of Dudley, MA; nephews Gerald Flibbert; David Flibbert, a niece Debra Toporoff; his godson Paul Standrowicz.
A Memorial Service for Raymond and Cecelia will be Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. They will have a Private Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Webster, MA. Donations may be made in Raymond's memory to the Putnam Lions Club, PO Box 535, Putnam, CT 06260.
