Obituary of Fernanda Magao
Fernanda Magao, 92, of Danielson, CT, peacefully passed away Monday, December 5, 2016, at the Westview Health Care Center in Dayville. She was born September 12, 1924 in New Bedford, MA, daughter of the late Auelino and Emilia (Queiroga) Gonsalves . Wife of the late Titolivio “Ted the Barber” Magao, they were married May 8, 1948. He died in 2011. She was a communicant of St. James Church, a member of the Brooklyn Grange, where she held several offices. She was employed by the Killingly Board of Education, working in nutrition at the Killingly High School Cafeteria for over 22 years. She also worked as a Seamstress at Wellington Curtain. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves her children Charlotte Doyle and husband Gary of Danielson, Gary Magao and wife Tish of Arizona, her grandson Sean B. Doyle of Putnam and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Ryan Scott Doyle in 2009, her siblings Alexander Gonsalves, Eugenia Dragon. Her family would like to extend gratitude for everyone at Westview for all their heartwarming care and concern.
Calling hours will be Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St James Church, Danielson. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Gary & Tish are unable to attend, so they plan to host a gathering after they return from AZ in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Westview Healthcare, 150 Ware Rd., Dayville, CT 06241.
