Obituary of William L. Richardson

William L. Richardson October 16, 1952 - December 12, 2013 Putnam - William "Bill" Richardson passed away at Hartford Hospital after a protracted battle with Brain Cancer onThursday, December 12, 2013. Bill was born in Putnam CT, son of the late William J. and Rita A. (Bonosconi) Richardson. Bill was raised in Putnam attending Putnam Public Schools and worked at Belding Heminway and Putnam Herzl before going to work for the Connecticut Dept. of MentalRetardation/Developmental Services for 27 years where he worked in several group homes around the area and took care many different clients/patients before retiring due to illness in May of this year. He is survived by his beloved children, Andrew and Heather Richardson both of Putnam, who were the center of his life. He also leaves behind two brothers, David Richardson and wife Helen of Woodstock, CT and Fred Richardson and wife Cynthiaof Canterbury, CT and his girlfriend Roberta Reddy of Brooklyn, CT, who has been his constant companion through his tough ordeal; his Aunt Norma Bonosconi of Putnam, and cousins Susan Steward of North Chelmsford, MA, Brenda Navarro of Pomfret, CT, Robert Bonosconi of Salt Lake City, UT, and Mathew Bonosconi of Putnam, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bill also leaves many life-long friends in and from the Putnam area as he was well known at many of the local "social spots" and for his prowess at "pool" having participated in many area tournaments over the years. Bill also loved fishing, golf with his buddies and more recently motorcycling. He will be missed by many.
