Obituary of Burton W. DeVries

Burton W. DeVries, 90, of East Woodstock, CT, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014. He leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Barbara (Brown) DeVries, his daughter Brenda Chaplis of Boylston, MA and his son Brian DeVries of Charlton, MA, along with four grandchildren and one great granddaughter, he was predeceased by his sister Helen Taylor and brothers Paul and Herman DeVries.

He was born in East Douglas, MA, the son of Broer and Nessie DeVries. He served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Parks. He was a member of the Old-Timers Ski Group at Wachusett and the Benson Flugel American Legion.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 27 at 3:00 pm at the Evangelical Covenant Church, 24 Child Hill Road, Woodstock, CT.
