Obituary of Mary A. Szruba

Putnam - Mary A. Szruba, 78, of Putnam died on Monday, August at Regency Heights Nursing Home in Danielson, CT. She was born in Putnam on August 8, 1935, daughter of the late Wilfred Gilbert, Sr. and Annabelle (Harrington) Gilbert. She worked at Danielson Curtain prior to providing daycare services to several family member. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Besides her beloved husband of 56 years, Peter P. Szruba, Sr., she leaves behind her son, Peter P. Szruba, Jr. of Putnam, daughter, Jenny Lynn Chapman and her husband Dana Chapman of Woodstock, grandchildren, Shane and Jesse Davis of Putnam, Chris, Connor and Chace Chapman of Woodstock, Kristen (Briere) Ramdhor of Germany, Faith Briere of Putnam, Aubrey-Lynn (Briere) Girdwood of Hawaii, twin sister, Leonie Dauphinais of Putnam, sisters, Pauline Terwilliger of Killingly and Katherine Lyons of Belchertown, MA, brothers, Robert and Henry Gilbert of Putnam and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Marie Briere of Putnam, Brothers, James, Bernard (Cookie) and Wilfred Gilbert, Jr. of Putnam Funeral will be Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, followed by a Graveside service in St. Mary Cemetery at 12:00 pm (Noon). Calling hours will be Friday, August 8, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
