To the family of Paul Brodeur, I am so, so very sorry for your loss, but I also want you all to know that there is a large hole in my Heart as well. Paul and I have been side by side through all of this, but Paul is the one that suffered the physical pain as I watched day after day and hoped and Prayed for a better outcome. We entered UMass 6;15am on many mornings and I left at 10:45pm alone to head for home with tear filled eyes because I knew what the Doctors were about to do to Paul in the morning. Paul was like a Son to me, but with more will power then I will ever have to say the least ! I don`t know how Paul had the drive to go on day after day ! I and Donna Ringuette went to visit Paul Friday evening and left at 7:00pm and approx. 7 hours later I got a call around 2:20am saying Paul passed away from Cardiac Arrest, that just about floored me even tho I told several people that I knew that Paul would not make it to Chrismas, but with all hopes that I would be wrong. I saw signs that Paul was giving off that were the same I saw from my Late Wife just 1 year and 5 months ago ! One doesn`t forget those signs, they just stay with you like a bad dream that never goes away. I did all that I could do for Paul and I did everything Paul asked me to do for him except give him a cigarette to which he asked me to do and it hurt deeply not to give him that wish ! I could say so much more about Paul but some things we talked about was just between Paul and I. Paul could be trusted and he took things I said with him as I will take things Paul told me with me when the time comes!! In closing I hope Paul saw from above all the people that showed up at the Funeral Home in his Honor !! Paul was a good Man, no doubt about it!! R.I.P. Paul, My Son !! ( Paul you went way beyond being a Son-in -Law !! God Bless You, now and Forever!!

Although I have only known Paul for a short time. I feel very blessed for having Paul come into my life. He was such a wonderful person. Paul had such a big beautiful heart, and always seemed to enjoy all the pleasures of life no matter how tuff his life had become. Paul was an awesome person, and will be missed by everyone who`s heart he has touched. I would like to thank Alfred Mowry, a man that has always been by Paul side no matter what the circumstances were. I thank you Al for introducing me to Paul. I see why you loved him, and how wonderful he truly was. I saw that not only though Paul, but though his family and friends. Although he is gone he will never be forgotten. He will live on, in each and everyone of us, that's had the same chance to meet up with such a beautiful soul. God Bless You Paul! RIP.

Paul a.k.a. Paugy, Pounder, Maestro and many other nicknames, but the name that meant the most to him, the one that described him best is Dad. Nathan and Shawn were lucky to have a dad like Paul. Paul couldn't be prouder of his boys. He couldn't love them more. His boys were his life. I have had a lot of time to reflect on the past and have so many great memories. Although Paul and I were apart, we remained a team when it came to raising our children. Our children are now wonderful men. I know that Paul is by their side even at this moment. I know he is proud of the strength and courage they have had since he left this earth. I pray that he will help me to continue to be strong and finish the job we started together. I have lost my teammate. Although the boys are men, there will be times when they need their parents. I can never be their dad, but I am sure if I ask he will show me the way. ... Paul may not be here for us to see, but he will always be here in our hearts and never be forgotten. He lives on in his sons and his granddaughter. Paul will always have a special place in my heart. He also took a piece of my heart with him. He fought a hard fight. Many would have given up long ago. Those who knew him are better people because of him. Paul, I hope you are finally at peace. You have definitely earned your wings. Fly like the wind....

My condolences to all of Paul's family and friends. I met Paul at the Joslin Camp back in 1969 and for the next ten summers or so, always looked forward to spending a few weeks with him at EPJ. He was a great guy who always found a way to make me laugh. He will be missed.
